Om het traditionele Chinese culturele erfgoed na 60 jaar communistisch bewind in ere te herstellen, richtte een groep buitenlandse Chinese artiesten in 2006 in New York Shen Yun op. In geen tijd werd het dans- en muziekgezelschap wereldvermaard om zijn wervelende shows waarin traditie en hightech hand in hand gaan.
