If you are between 15 and 25 years old and, most importantly, you play in a wicked band, keep reading! Ending the EU Youth Week with a bang, the Youth Forum organises the third edition of their annual event YO!Fest and is giving local emerging bands the opportunity to win a spot in the concert line-up! Enroll in the YO!Fest Emerging Bands Contest before 25 April and who knows you’ll be rocking the main stage on the esplanade of the European Parliament!

Enough reason to celebrate: the end of the EU Youth Week, the 25th anniversary of EU programmes dedicated to youth organisations, the launching of the League of Young Voters. YO!Fest 2013 means two days of political debates, competitions, open mic sessions, games, screenings, discussions, concerts by international artists and so on. Already confirmed bands who will be playing live on stage are Alpha Blondy, from Ivory Coast, and The Solar System, Fanfare Du Belgistan, and Gangbe Brass Band. Now, you can be a part of all that. The rules to participate in the Emerging Bands Contest require that you are between 15 and 25 years old, a resident of Belgium, and your band plays indiepop/rock or ethno/world music. These are the two categories in which you can enroll, and there will be one winning band in each of the categories. The judges will consist of music professionals, and AGENDA will be part of it! With your application you have to send three tracks plus a YouTube video of a live performance, along with a motivation letter. Enroll here: http://bit.ly/yofestbandfr (French) or http://bit.ly/yofestband (Dutch). The winning bands get to open the festival 30 or 31 May, and get a refund for transportation plus catering and beverages!
