Marlina the murderer in four acts

Since the death of her husband and child, Marlina has lived alone in an isolated wooden house on Sumba.

She won’t let anyone get the better of her when a man visits her one day and says that he and six friends are going to come and rob and rape her. Because that is surely what a woman on her own has coming? The pace of this film is quite slow, but the feminist perspective, the humour, the stunning cinematography, the powerful music, and the Sergio Leone-inspired style of directing are all laudable. Not to be dismissed.
