Razzia: struggling to be themselves in Morocco

Razzia begins in 1988 in the mountains, among the Berbers. The process of Arabization and Salafization is in full swing. Thirty years later, we are in Casablanca. Hakim, Salima, Joe, and Inès struggle to be themselves in a society that is wiping out its minorities.

After his last film, Much Loved (2015), Nabil Ayouch received death threats, but that did not stop him from raising his voice. Razzia is another critical and pressing portrait of Moroccan society, except that the characters are somewhat didactic.
