Football fans miss the atmospheric stadiums, orchestras yearn for their audiences. BRUZZ journalist Maarten Verdoodt wanted to reconcile both needs. The 'Sound of Zwanze' was born: the legendary club songs performed by the Brussels Philharmonic.

A Molenbeek club song to the tune of 'Eviva España' and an Italian-inspired declaration of love by Union fans to their club. Discover the story behind the two songs (video above - with subtitles in Dutch, French and English) and the classical performances by the Brussels Philharmonic.

  • Le RWD de Molenbeek

Since the 1970s, this club song was played just before kick-off in RWDM's Edmond Machtens stadium. The Brussels singer Jean Narcy wrote Molenbeek's anthem to the tune of 'Eviva España'.

But Narcy also wrote the club song 'Le Chant Des Goals' of Union Saint-Gilloise. The charm singer thus ensures that both clubs are more connected than they think.

  • Ça Fait Maintenant Des Années / L'Estate Sta Finendo

The Italodisco-duo Righeira made name and fame with the hit 'Vamos A La Playa'. Singer Johnson Righeira fell in love with the atmosphere at Union Saint-Gilloise matches during a visit to Brussels.

In one of their songs, the fan group Union Bhoys refers to another Righeira song: 'L'Estate Sta Finendo'. In this way, they express their love for Union.
