QuartierWielsWijk is an urban movement that originated more than fifteen years ago to improve spaces and streets in order to stimulate the mobility of pedestrians. They fight to keep the 'Marais Wiels' alive, a natural swamp that appeared twelve years ago between Wiels and the Metropole building and is now full of life. In the meantime, they have set up numerous projects (including book boxes and compost heaps) to transform the area around Wiels into a greener place to enjoy.
