Uiko Watanabe is a dancer, choreographer and theatre actress. She came to Brussels more than 20 years ago and combines contemporary dance with 'butoh'. Butoh is a dance that originated in Japan after World War II as a reaction to European dance. "A lot of European dances stem from a desire to float, always lighter. Butoh contains none of that. You change shape and enter the world of death and life."
