Not that his character, Richard Williams, has a better backhand than Roger Federer. But he is firmly convinced of the enormous talent of his daughters Venus and Serena and moves heaven and earth to help them grow into illustrious champions. Unfortunately this support is necessary, as this film, that seeks both to entertain and to motivate, points out. Will Smith might be up for an Oscar.
