At the end of June 1976, the terror group Revolutionäre Zellen helped the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine to hijack an aeroplane that had just taken off from Tel Aviv. The Ugandan dictator Idi Amin allowed the hijackers to keep the 248 hostages imprisoned in Entebbe.
The Israeli army liberated the hostages during a spectacular raid, and the case partly led to Israel becoming the state that it is today. There is more than enough fascinating material, but director José Padilha (Narcos) doesn’t know where to start.
