At the end of September, it will be a decade since Belgium and the Netherlands narrowly escaped a financial cataclysm. The Dutch Yan Ting Yuen and Robert Kosters have reconstructed the acute crisis based on extensive interviews with the key (political) players involved.
This tense and thoughtful documentary is exciting, extremely clear, and will provide you with more essential knowledge than watching the news for a week. There will hopefully never be a sequel, but De achtste dag (“The Eighth Day”) is anything but reassuring.
