The American actor John Malkovich will be the highlight of a musical programme developed around the work of Argentinian author Ernesto Sábato.

The American actor will read from Sábato’s magnum opus On Heroes and Tombs, which sketches a dark picture of humanity and the world. The reading will be accompanied by the dissonant concerto for piano and orchestra by the German-Russian composer Alfred Schnittke, performed by the Russian pianist Anastasya Terenkova and the Danubia Orchestra Óbuda conducted by Dirk Brossé. The rest of the programme comprises work by Britten, Massenet, Hermann, Bartók, and Brossé.
