It is generally known that painter Luc Tuymans, who is currently being applauded internationally for his exhibition at the prestigious Venetian Palazzo Grassi, is often inspired by found footage, ranging from press photos to film stills.
It is thus no surprise that the renowned artist is also an ardent film lover. For Cinematek he has selected a fine carte blanche of films that have influenced him as a painter, with diverse titles ranging from Le mépris or Blue Velvet to The Social Network. On 3 April, the master will personally introduce the horror classic Les yeux sans visage.
