Dutch masters at the Royal Museums: 'What Rembrandt did is almost eerily fascinating'

The Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium have a permanent collection of seventeenth-century Dutch masters. The largest outside the Netherlands, in fact. And that wing was recently renovated. "A lot of artists from the Southern Netherlands fled north and helped that whole society flourish. The so-called Golden Age. That led to an enormously thriving industry and craft industry, but also to an enormous cultural revival."
