Economic disaster, a corrupt government, a repressive president and the ruthless guerrilla movement of the Shining Path: Peru was no paradise in the 1980s. In the midst of that, the baby of a young woman from the Andes is stolen in an illegal delivery centre in Lima shortly after the birth. Desperate, she goes in search of her child.

A sole journalist from a national newspaper is one of the few who are willing to help. Director Melina León's grandfather was an investigative journalist who found out that stolen babies were being sold to foreign couples. Beautiful black-and-white images tell the heartbreaking story.
