The king of Grime sells out the AB

Joseph Junior Adenuga learned to rap with Meridian Crew (named after the residential area in Tottenham, where he grew up after moving from Lagos). Thanks to raw mixtapes and ruthless solo records, released under the stage name Skepta, he eventually became the king of grime, the genre that arose from the ashes of UK garage and jungle.

In 2016, he won the Mercury Music Prize for Konnichiwa. After finding his way to the streets, he had found his way out of his niche. He signed Drake to his Boy Better Know label, dated Naomi Campbell, and – while waiting for the release of his new album SK Level – he sells out huge venues, from the Sydney Opera House to the AB.
