It did not take these six twentysomethings from North Carolina long to come up with their name: their first gigs were always performed nude. They have since found themselves some clobber, so you can concentrate on the music when they come onstage.
Their music is not revolutionary – 1960s psych and garage rock that has already been masticated by Black Lips and related bands. But The Nude Party does it with style, as was evident from last year’s untitled debut. We hear strumming guitars and chirping organs, in the best Velvet, Stones, and Animals tradition, but a pedal steel guitar wails along too. So, be there, but keep your clothes on.
