'Aladdin': very little enchantment

Onze score

You can’t blame Disney for taking good care of its heritage and making live-action versions of one animated classic after another. But why couldn’t their budget be invested in a better and more respectful version of one of the best loved tales from the Thousand and One Nights?

Guy Ritchie has not directed this film disastrously badly, but there is very little narrative tension or enchantment. And Will Smith? He tries far too hard to be cool as the Genie, and he looks a bit strange painted blue.
