Rui Barros: 'I had to accept that making art is something very bourgeois'

Portuguese artist Rui Barros has lived in Lisbon, Barcelona and New York, but found Brussels to be a livable city on a human scale. "Art can be a cognitive bypass for people. We have all been touched by music, a book or a work of art. That means that this work of art has been able to bypass your own dogmas, your own social upbringing, your own culture".
